Prestwold Natural Burial Ground

Prestwold Natural Burial Ground is such an amazing location for a Funeral. The site was founded in 1999 in Loughborough, Leicestershire and was one of the very first burial grounds to open in the Midlands. Surrounded by fields and beautiful woodland areas it is home to many forms of Wildlife and is the perfect location to be laid to rest should you wish a natural burial in the countryside.

What is a Natural Burial?

The main idea behind a Natural Burial is to help minimise the impact we have on the environment, making the funeral much more sustainable as they’re designed to preserve the site and have minimal impact on the animals which inhabit the area. So biodegradable coffins are in, but embalming of the body before would be out due to the toxic chemicals and their negative impact on the environment.

Why Have a Natural Burial?

The obvious is that they are way better for the environment than a traditional cremation. Everything used for a natural burial is biodegradable and therefore doesn’t have a negative impact on the surrounding wildlife which is a huge positive.

One of the reasons I made this video is to show you how beautiful these places can be. I personally took my camera and drone to capture the area and makde a short film of how beautiful a Natural Burial Ground can be.
